Ecomiles was founded by two college friends, Silivan and Edgar, who share a passion for travel and a deep love for their home countries. Silivan, born in Zambia, attended UWC Costa Rica, an institution renowned for its commitment to fostering peace and a sustainable future through education. Edgar, from Tanzania, attended the African Leadership Academy, which focuses on developing the next generation of African leaders with a strong sense of social responsibility.

Their academic journeys continued at Whitman College in Washington State, where Silivan pursued computer science and Edgar focused on environmental studies. It was at Whitman that their shared vision for a sustainable future began to take shape. Silivan's dedication to using technology to solve issues in his community demonstrated through his Software and IT startup Gnamma Technologies and Edgar's passion for environmental sustainability demonstrated through his founding of Green Venture Tanzania, a company that recycles plastic waste into furniture, have became the foundation of Ecomiles Tours.
